Travertine: A Signature of Luxury

Travertine, a limestone formed in mineral-rich springs, is increasingly favoured in luxury residential interiors for its natural depth and variation. Its earthy tones and unique textures make it an ideal choice for projects that demand both timeless elegance and individuality.

For this interior design and architecture project, travertine became the central design language—applied in multiple finishes to create visual diversity and a layered sensory experience.

Design Approach: Crafting Texture & Flow

To give the spa rhythm and richness, we introduced varied travertine cuts and finishes:

• Honed Travertine – a matte finish for soft, understated elegance.

• Polished Travertine – reflective surfaces amplifying light and luxury.

• Tumbled Travertine – rustic textures that invite touch and warmth.

• Brushed Travertine – durable, slip-resistant, and perfect for wet zones.

This material strategy allowed us to segment the basement extension naturally, guiding movement through zones without partitions while retaining a seamless, flowing design.

The completed spa embodies bespoke design and build at scale—unified yet dynamic, expansive yet intimate. Far from repetitive, the play of travertine textures animates the 10,000 sq ft basement, creating an environment that feels crafted for discovery and wellbeing.

This project demonstrates how interior design in Surrey and London can transcend decoration, merging architecture, project management, and luxury interiors into a single, integrated vision.
