Interior Design Trends To Look Out For At Decorex 2019
Following a four-year run at Syon Park, high-end retail showcase Decorex International relocates to London’s Olympia this year. The event promises to showcase the very latest in high-end design. With over 400 exhibitors in attendance, the show will be a melting pot of inspiration for those that work in luxury interior design.
Recently, the organisers of the show highlighted several interior design trends they think will become the themes for this year’s fair. Looking back on a few of our project’s this year, it’s pleasing to see how many of these design trends have already been incorporated into our own projects, signalling our studio’s position at the leading edge of the industry.
1. Warm Metal Accents
Copper, brass and rose gold will continue to be a defining trait of contemporary interiors. The Decorex team state “these metals, which can easily be incorporated into interiors scheme, provide a tender glow, while adding an element of cool lux.”
Janine Stone & Co. have incorporated metal accents in many of our designs including the contemporary bathroom designs (below). The nature of metal makes it ideal for use in the bathroom from an aesthetic, kinesthetic and practical sense.
2. Nature’s Palette
The Decorex team are predicting an increase in the use of a naturally inspired palette, from aquamarine to rich deep ebony tones, such colours “can add drama and a sense of opulence to interior schemes while their association with nature offers a calming and restorative mood.”
3. Greyscale’s Transformation
Paired back, monochromatic interior sets are what many have come to expect of modern interior design. This trend looks set to continue as interior designers transform greyscale spaces with beguiling geometric patterns and detailing.
