Q&A With Bruno Moinard

Behind The Scenes At Janine Stone & Co.

It is from his childhood in Dieppe, where the milky alabaster of the coastline meets the sea, that Bruno Moinard developed his fascination for capturing the essence of things through light, strong and simple lines.

A graduate of the French National School of Applied Arts and Crafts, he began his career in 1979, before founding his own design studio in 1995. Bruno’s handmade furniture designs are contemporary and timeless. He creates sensual looking furniture with strong lines and refined details, where materials and forms become inseparable in a manner that is both unusual and harmonious.

In response to a creative brief set by the editors of House & Garden magazine this month, Janine Stone & Co.’s interior design team chose a creation from Bruno Moinard Editions to place in our Boudoir scheme. The refined Palmi table lamp is named after a commune on the coast of Calabria in Italy. It features an enameled ceramic finish on its base and has a Gatsby style fabric shade made from luxury French and Italian textiles.

In a brief Q&A session with Janine Stone, Bruno kindly gave us an insight into his sense of style.
