New Appointments at Janine Stone

Leading architectural and interior design, build and project management firm, Janine Stone, has looked to underpin its architecture and construction divisions in London with three senior appointments. New York born, Christopher Gaylord as Head of Architecture – London. Christopher has practiced architecture on both sides of the Atlantic. After studying at Princeton and obtaining a Masters at Harvard, Chris worked for I.M.Pei in New York and David Chipperfield in London. Chris set up his own practice in 1992 to specialise in urban residential buildings, including prime properties in Kensington and St. Johns Wood. After Directorships at Assael Architecture and luxury residential developer Northacre, Chris joins Janine Stone to help drive the business forward. He is an enabler for Design Council CABE, teaches the Design of Sustainable Tall Buildings at Nottingham University, and is a past board member of the UK chapter of the American Institute of Architects.

The firm has also recruited Robert Adams, Senior Project Architect; Robert brings a wealth of experience to the team having begun his career at Somerset House for The Courtauld Institute of Art and in recent years worked on prime residential projects for developer, Northacre and private clients. Robert was a Project Architect for The Lancasters, a revival scheme of 77 lateral and duplex apartments, marrying traditional architecture with brand new design and construction and creating a new generation of grand residences for the 21st Century.

Gary Simmons joins Janine Stone as Senior Contracts Manager in the construction division following a significant career with Laing Construction and Holloway White Allom. Gary brings a depth and breadth of experience drawn from working on large and highly prestigious private country house projects, which have garnered the highest critical acclaim. He has been awarded the CIOB Berks and Oxon Branch Construction Industry Award of Project/Site Manager of the Year 2006. Gary’s breadth of experience embraces a diverse portfolio from secure chemical plants to complex and luxurious private residences.
