Janine’s Winter Look
With winter taking hold, I always find it a challenge at this time of year to source wardrobe items that will keep me warm and strike a fashionable form. Céline is one of my favourite go to brands. They are one of the original Parisian fashion brands, known originally for designing bespoke children’s shoes over 70 years ago. As a woman I can strongly relate to Céline Vipiana, who grew her business into much broader fashion categories by continually challenging convention, paying excruciating attention to detail and each of her customers’ needs.
In my search for a functional yet fashionable winter look, two particular items from the Céline winter collection caught my gaze. Firstly, a one hundred percent wool felt jacket in royal blue, that comes with the shoulders dropped and open cuffs creating an elongated and powerful silhouette. The oversized, masculine, design of this piece will circulate air better on a woman’s figure and ensure a comfortable fit. I also really like the matching woolen trousers and cream feather-light leather shirt, which they’ve matched it with.
Secondly, a single breasted winter coat (also in the Céline winter collection) which would very much complement the wool felt jacket and trousers. The coat itself is woven from bonded polyester, that is textured and sure to be resilient throughout the cold months ahead. Yet what I love most about this coat are the lapels, made from satin, they add a hint of glamour to this coat – which I think makes it a versatile option for many occasions whether I’m going out to dinner or visiting the design studio.
