Nigel Boyd Farquhar
Architecture and Planning Director

Nigel was just nine years old when he realised he wanted to become an architect, and design beautiful houses. After studies in Dundee, Manchester and Liverpool, he spent 15 years in project-leading positions with some of Manchester’s most successful architectural practices, developing skills in concept design, planning and technical design coordination.

After a chance meeting with Gideon Stone in 2002, Nigel joined the firm with a remit to build the architectural team and finally realise his ‘dream job’ ambition.

He’s now responsible for coordinating the architectural design of all our projects. Starting always from the client’s brief and then research into the site, heritage and planning constraints, Nigel (with his architectural team) devises the best strategy for success in the planning application process. Working closely with all our departments, consultants and local authorities, he ensures the seamless integration of the interior, construction, technical and legislative requirements of each project.

To date, Nigel has coordinated over 40 projects in Moscow, Chicago, Portugal, London, Essex, Kent, Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire, Leicestershire and Cheshire. And with each one, he has one ultimate aim in mind:

“Our business is all about people. Helping them to realise the home of their dreams is immensely satisfying and rewarding.”
